Today we are witnessing a resurgence of global Jew hatred not seen since the 1930s when Hitler was laying plans for a “Final Solution” to the problem presented by Jews through their physical extermination. In the Middle East, Hitler-admiring regimes like Iran, and Hitler-admiring parties like Hezbollah, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood are openly planning “to finish the job that Hitler started.” And in America, on campuses across the country, student groups supporting or associated with these anti-Semitic parties, including Students for Justice in Palestine and the Muslim Students Association,regularly hold events supporting the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists, and calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.
These university-approved organizations engage in rhetoric and activities that clearly fall under the U.S. government’s official definition of “anti-Semitism.”They deny the Jewish people - and only the Jewish people - their right to self-determination; they demand that Israel live up to standards not expected of any other nation; they deploy classic anti-Semitic imagery and libels; they demonize Israel – the most tolerant nation in the Middle East – as an “apartheid state” and hold all Jews collectively responsible for the perceived actions of the Israeli state.
These anti-Jewish events violate the most basic and universally held codes of student behavior promulgated by university administrations. Their sponsoring groups operate on university facilities, and with the support of university funds even though their hateful behaviors are explicitly forbidden under the rules of conduct administrators have promulgated, and which areinvoked to protect every ethnic group but Jews.
The David Horowitz Freedom Center has launched a campaign to combat this ethnic bigotry by raising awareness of the problem and by petitioning university authorities to remove the campus privileges of anti-Jewish hate groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, and to provide Jewish students the same protections afforded to other members of the campus community.
