Swastikas Investigated at SUNY Purchase

Authorities are investigating swastikas that were painted in a SUNY Purchase College dorm room this week.

The Westchester County District Attorney's Bias Crimes Unit is helping campus police investigate the incident, District Attorney's Office spokesman Lucian Chalfen said on Friday.

Purchase College President Thomas Schwarz said late Friday that "this conduct is reprehensible" and is being investigated.

The "hate incident" took place on Wednesday, according to a statement from the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center, a nonprofit organization located about four miles from the college.
