Another case of trans insanity is making headlines in Washington State and the emerging facts are so jarring that those unaware of the current condition of leftist lunacy might think the whole thing was cooked up by opponents of that state’s radical policies.
Male high school freshman Logan Mihailoff began the current fall sports season running on the boys’ JV cross-country team for Camas High School in Clark County, Washington, less than 20 miles from neighboring Portland, Oregon. In his first race of the season, on September 5th, he placed 76th among a field of other boys.
Mere weeks later, Mihailoff made a mid-season switch to the girls’ cross-country team, claiming a new identity as a “trans girl.” Despite an upgrade to the varsity ranks, the male runner swiftly racked up a series of first and second place wins with one seventh place showing when he ran a slower time than usual.
“So you’re a 76th place runner with the JV boys in the 5k and less than a month later you’re a champion on the varsity girls,” summarized journalist Brandi Kruse, host of the show unDivided. “The first thing I think in my head is what parent, what adult would allow this? And apparently Camas parents, Union High School parents, are livid… All of a sudden you go from sucking in cross country as a boy to being a champion as a girl.”
Where female students were once pressured into accepting trans-identified boys into their ranks, the girls of Camas High School’s cross-country team are not so easily cowed. At a recent race on October 13, roughly half of the 24-member girls’ team walked off the course in protest, forfeiting the race rather than be forced to compete against a biological male.
Astoundingly, despite the overwhelming consensus among Americans that female sports should remain female-only, Mihailoff’s mid-season switch to the girls’ team is fully permissible under current state law. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) allows students to compete for whichever team aligns with their “gender identity” and to use the public facilities including restrooms and changing rooms of that gender. Current law does not even require that students seeking to compete for an opposite-sex team undergo hormone treatments or maintain a trans identity for a specified period.
Mihailoff’s sudden move to the girls’ team is an obvious affront to the fairness, privacy, and dignity of the female students who are now forced to change and compete beside him or forfeit their right to participate in athletics. But that isn’t even the worst part of the story. New reports are now emerging that Mihailoff has repeatedly made sexual comments and demonstrated inappropriate behaviors towards the female members of the Camas cross-country team.
Clark County Today reports:
On Oct. 9-10, the Camas cross country team traveled to Arlington, WA to participate in the Nike Hole in the Wall XC Invitational at Lakewood High School. Clark County Today has learned that the biological male’s behavior on the trip led to multiple complaints by other female members of the girls’ team.
Family members and parents of team members told Clark County Today that the biological male entered a hotel room occupied by three female members of the girls’ team. The transgender athlete and two female members of the team partially undressed, reportedly to underwear and sports bras, and got in an “ice bath’’ in the bathroom of the hotel room. At least one female team member present felt uncomfortable with the behavior. She later made a complaint before leaving the team altogether earlier this week.
“He (the biological male) did enter a family member’s room,’’ a source told Clark County Today. “She (the family member) was rooming with two other girls. He entered with a couple of other girls. My (relationship redacted) didn’t have a choice in the matter. But she was uncomfortable. An ice bath was set up in the room. He proceeded to take an ice bath in the bathroom with two other girls. She left. She was very upset. It was a violation of her privacy.’’
Nor was that the only uncomfortable incident sparked by Mihailoff’s inclusion on the overnight trip. Clark County Today reports that Mihailoff’s teammates reported sexualized comments and other inappropriate conduct from the biological male on the chartered bus ride to the meet.
“He was on the bus sitting with a girl, touching her, rubbing her leg,’’ one of the family members told Clark County Today. “He pulled the girl on his lap and said ‘you could make me a lesbian.’ That is inappropriate whether he’s trans or not.’’
“Firstly, (name redacted) has a reputation for touching girls,’’ confirmed another family member. “This behavior predates his decision to declare girlhood and don a sports bra for cross country. On Friday afternoon (Oct. 9) on the bus ride up to Arlington, several athletes witnessed him pawing a girl seated on his lap and heard him say, ‘I am a lesbian for you.’ This type of conduct on a sports trip is against school policy, regardless of whether it is consensual or not. He was also overheard in a graphic sexual conversation with a couple of his girl ‘supporters.’ This is also against school policy. Believe it or not, he has convinced some of the girls (and perhaps himself) that he’s a lesbian. No joke. It seems to be part of his MO.’’
The situation is reminiscent of other misconduct perpetrated by trans-identified male athletes in Washington State. Last December, female high school wrestler Kallie Keeler reported being sexually assaulted by a male competitor (posing as female) during a match.
Students participating in the overnight trip reported Mihailoff’s conduct to school administrators. The Camas school district worked with an independent agency to investigate the allegations against the trans-identified student. The investigation confirmed the hotel ice bath incident as well as some of the details reported on the bus but claimed that other allegations “regarding inappropriate physical conduct…appear to be false.”
“Those are things that happened; they are facts,’’ a family member told Clark County Today about the reported incidents. “And no one has done anything about it.’’
The state of Washington is set to vote on Initiative 638 on Nov. 3, which would ban biological males from competing in girls’ K-12 sports in the state. Let’s hope Washington voters are paying close attention.
