Few disputes fought out by student governments have been as acrimonious as the battles raging intermittently across this state on whether to push University of California regents and trustees of other universities to join an international campaign against Israel. This movement seeks to boycott Israeli companies and academics, demands divestment from companies doing business there and demands trade sanctions.

Campus advocates of the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Santions (BDS) movement often attack Israel and the Jewish State in an insidious manner. Hiding behind mantra of “human rights” and “pursuing social justice,” students level a variety of false allegations going as far as to accuse Israel of being a genocidal enterprise like Nazi Germany under Hitler.

Once again anti-Semitism has roiled Wellesley College. The recent abrupt firingof the Hillel director and chaplain, and the relentless denigration of Israel by Muslim students and supportive faculty, have triggered concern about festering prejudice at the elite women’s college nestled within a sedate Boston suburb.
