The Campaign

Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus

On college campuses across America, hatred and bigotry directed at Jews is at an all time high. From swastikas appearing on Jewish fraternity houses to mock “apartheid walls” which disseminate mendacious Hamas propaganda, from anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions resolutions to angry and sometimes violent attempts to shut down pro-Israel speakers, America’s universities have become a new fount of Jew hatred which then leeches into our broader culture.

If this hostility targeted any other ethnic or religious minority, students and administrators would be up in arms, calling for disciplinary hearings, sensitivity training and the like. Yet campus authorities, typically known for their rush to accommodate campus minorities, have done little or nothing to protect the Jewish students under their charge.

This Jew hatred is fomented by campus organizations that support the terrorist regimes in Gaza and the West bank who spread lies about the Jewish state. Chief among these lies is the claim that the Jews “stole” Arab land to create the state of Israel. The hatred springing from this lie is epitomized by the recent comments on social media of UCLA student Lisa Marie Mendez, who is also an employee at the UCLA Medical Center:

“F**king Jews. GTFOH with all your Zionist bullshit.Crazy ass f**king troglodyte albino monsters of cultural destruction.F**king Jews. GTFOH with your whiny bullshit. Give the Palestinians back their land, go back to Poland or whatever freezer-state you’re from, and realize that faith does not constitute race.”

As appalling as these comments are, they represent only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Jew hatred on campus. A recent study from the Brandeis Center for Human Rights found that more than half of nearly 1,200 Jewish students surveyed at 55 campuses nationwide reported having experienced or witnessed anti-Semitism on campus during the last year.

To counter this hatred and defend Jewish students, the David Horowitz Freedom Center is organizing a campaign this spring titled Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus (www.stopthejewhatredoncampus.org), which will take aim at the four big lies which underpin the modern architecture of anti-Semitism and Jew Hatred.

Four Lies About the Jewish State
Spread by the Terrorists and Their Campus Allies

The claim that Israel occupies Palestinian land is a lie:

Israel was created on land ceded by the Turks after their defeat in World War I. The Turks are not “Palestinians” and are not even Arabs. The Jews did not “occupy" even the Turkish land.[1] The U.N. created Israel on land that was also used by the victorious powers in WWI to create the modern boundaries of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan.[2]  It was land that had belonged to the former Ottoman Empire for 400 years until their defeat in World War I. Native Americans have a more recent claim on the United States than the Arabs have on the land around the Jordan on which Israel was created.

The claim that Israel is an apartheid state is a lie:

There are over a million Palestinians who are Israeli citizens[3] who enjoy more rights than the Palestinians who live in Gaza and the West Bank.[4] Every measure taken to separate Palestinians from Israelis is dictated by the fact that for 67 years, since 1948, the Arabs have waged an unprovoked terror war against Israel’s Jews.[5]

The claim that Palestinians want a state for themselves is a lie:

Beginning in 1948, when they were first offered a state of their own, and again in 2000 and 2008, the Palestinians have rejected these offers in favor of a terrorist war.[6] What the terrorist governments of the West Bank and Gaza want – and clearly state as their goal – is the destruction of the Jewish state and an ethnic cleansing of the Jews from the Middle East.[7]

The claim that Palestinians are victims of Israel is a lie.

Every injury suffered by Palestinians is a direct result of the 67-year war of aggression against the Jews, and the collective decisions of the Palestinians to elect terrorist regimes in the West Bank and Gaza.[8]

These four lies give cover to campus anti-Semites who use them to claim that they are only interested in rectifying injustices perpetrated on the Palestinians and in gaining for them a state of their own. It is only by dispelling these lies, and proving them false, that we can reveal that baseless Jew hatred, absent all noble intentions, lies at the heart of anti-Israel activism on campus.

Join us in a series of teach-ins this spring called “Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus” whose purpose is to raise student awareness and combat the anti-Jewish and pro-terrorist propaganda on American campuses. The time has come to end the use of our universities as staging grounds for campaigns of hatred aimed at the Jews and their homeland, Israel. The time has come to Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus.

Campus Teach-ins

The David Horowitz Freedom Center will be holding a series of “Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus” teach-ins. These events will raise student awareness about Jew hatred and anti-Semitism, and will combat the genocidal Hamas propaganda which has become a familiar presence on American campuses.

These teach-ins will feature speakers such as David Horowitz, Daniel Pipes, Richard Cravatts and others who can expose the truth about Jew hatred on campus and the steps we must take to thwart it. Participating students may also distribute literature, organize campus film screenings, participate in postering campaigns and hold silent vigils outside the campus offices of Students for Justice in Palestine (one of the chief instigators of campus Jew hatred) to raise awareness of these pressing concerns.

A campus teach-in can be shaped to fit any schedule and budget. Some campuses may choose to hold larger events such as hosting panel discussions or keynote speakers while others may simply set up an information booth to distribute literature or hold a film screening. Whatever your budget and schedule, we want to work with you and support you.

Join with this growing campus movement to expose and confront Jew Hatred on Campus and the campus hate groups responsible for perpetuating it.
